SUPPORTED FILE FORMATS

Raster: Photoshop (.psd) , .jpg ,.tif , .bmp , .png , .eps , .pdf

Vector: Illustrator (.ai) , Indesign (.indd), .eps , .pdf

We do not accept Word Documents, Publisher, Quark, CAD

The preferred format is .pdf, which can store raster and vector information

VECTOR & RASTER OVERVIEW

RESOLUTION (for Raster Art)

Banners, Direct Print (outputs under 32sq')

Raster files should be in the range of 72ppi - 200ppi at full output size.  PPI will increase as design is scaled down, e.g. - 200ppi 1/1-scale = 400 1/2-scale

Large Banners, Billboards (outputs over 32sq')

Raster files should be in the range of 25ppi - 60ppi at full output size.  PPI will increase as design is scaled down, e.g. - 25ppi 1/1-scale = 50 1/2-scale

COLOR MATCHING

We are able to match almost any color.  In order to match a color, you must provide us with a Pantone (PMS) number or a physical sample.

We cannot match CMYK/RGB values

LINKS / PLACED IMAGES

When an image is placed into Illustrator (AI) or Indesign (INDD), the image is not stored or saved in the file itself.  It is "linked" to the location where the image file is stored on the computer or local drive.  When the AI or INDD file is saved, the linked image is not saved with it, and therefore when the AI or INDD file is sent to another computer the linked/placed image will be listed as missing and unable to be outputted.

On an AI note, a file saved out as a native AI with "Create PDF Compatible File" checked will be able to be opened/viewed in Acrobat or Photoshop with all linked files able to be outputted/viewed.  However, when opened by AI, the linked/placed image will be MISSING because AI will want to "relink/find" the file's source that it was originally placed from.

In order to ensure that all data is supplied, when submitting files to be printed, you must either "Embed" the linked images, or supply the image files along with the submitted production files.

TEXT / FONTS

To ensure complete accuarcy of text and fonts, all text / fonts should be outlined in supplied art.  If not, the font file should be supplied with it.

BLEED

In order to ensure ink coverage edge to edge, a file must have bleed.  Bleed is extra color or image that extends beyond the final finish size of your print.  For banners, a minimum of 1" bleed on all sides is needed; preferred is bleed equal to the size of hem or pocket, if greater than 1".

HEMS AND POCKETS

Extra marterial at the edge of the print is turned over and stitched depending on the size of the hem/pocket; e.g. a 1.5" hem will have an 1.5" fold and stitch resulting in a stitch line starting at that 1.5".  It is important that nothing crucial (such as text and logos) falls into the hem/pocket area.  Think of the hems/pockets like "margins".

For example: If a 24” x 48” banner has 2” pockets on all sides, all important information must fit within 20” x 44”. Background images and non-essential design elements may go into the pocket area.
